Welcome to Flint River Rapids

“We don’t rise to the level of our expectations – we fall to the level of our training”
-Archilochus, Greek Soldier

The Flint River Rapids Swimming Club offers the finest aquatics program in the greater Lee County/Albany Metro Area. With multiple top ten finishes at the Georgia LSC Swimming Championships, including a 2nd place finish in 2009 and with multiple state finalists including four Georgia State Champions and six State championship titles FRR continues to do what it does best—provide quality instruction for swimmers and parents: Taylor Withers 2010 GISA Champion 50 and 100 freestyle, Nicole Fye; 2010 Georgia Zone Team member, Runner up at the 2010 Southern Zone Open Water Championship, and 2009 Georgia State Champion  in the 200 and 400 meter freestyle, Landon Burnette 2001 Georgia State Champion 100 meter fly, and Bethany Overcast 2000 Georgia State Champion 1650 freestyle; these athletes are the product of Flint River’s commitment to high performance training.

Our growing record of achievement is not a coincidence. Training for competitive swimming fosters a healthy, attentive mind, which is eager for learning of all kinds. This activity provides the personal, social, and intellectual supports for individual growth. Dreams, the stimuli for youth, can be realized in the positive and challenging environment found at FRR.

In its constant search for committed and talented athletes, FRR is striving to expand its methods of achievement, learning and excellence to the greater Southwest Georgia area. FRR trains at Albany State University.

The Flint River Rapids Swimming Club's objective is simple in concept. We offer activities which foster unity and stability during crucial years of childhood development. Team functions, swimming meets and fundraisers link parents, swimmers, and coaches in a spirit of acceptance and cooperation. FRR parents and relatives contribute time and effort to support a stimulating and pleasant atmosphere for child growth. Winning with FRR is the byproduct of the fun, enthusiasm, and hard work of its membership.
